Since turning professional in 1987 Montgomerie has recorded 30 European Tour tournament victories and has won the European Order of Merit a record eight times, most recently in 2005. He has been a major figure in the turnaround of European Ryder Cup fortunes since making his debut appearance in the bi-annual competition in 1991, recording a total of eight cup appearances and finishing on the winning side on five occasions. Montgomerie was instrumental in Europe’s record equalling defeat of the USA at the K Club last year where he maintained his record of never having lost a Ryder Cup singles match. The forty-three year old has also finished runner-up four times in Major Championships.
As part of the sponsorship agreement, Colin will wear Aberdeen branded clothing at tournaments worldwide and take part in a number of events with the company.
